Leftovers…Spicy Spaghetti Squash with Marinara Sauce…mmmmmm

March 24, 2010 by Shelley

One of my old favorite meals was left over spaghetti with marinara sauce fried up in a pan…the sauce gets extra thick..almost sticky giving it that rich tomato flavor and the noodles got a little crunchy…basically all the flavors intensified and you were left with a plate of extra gooey, sticky pasta. The spaghetti squash is as close to that dish as I can get and it was so delicious! I took some left over Spicy Spaghetti Squash from the […]

Don’t fall for it!

March 23, 2010 by Joey

Do any of you remember the old Nintendo game Paperboy? You were the newspaper boy, and your rode your bike down the street, and obstacles came out – increasingly faster and more frequently as the game went one – and you had to try to avoid them as you threw the newspapers to each doorstep. Ring a bell? Anyway, that’s what I feel like it’s like being on Paleo sometimes. You’re on your Paleo path, trying to stay on the […]

Halibut and Asparagus are back in season!!

Halibut Cheeks and Roasted Asparagus

March 22, 2010 by Joey

It’s cause for celebration. Halibut is back in season! I must admit, I used to not be so wild about eating seafood, but Halibut is so mild and fresh that I absolutely love eating it. I could eat it every day. One day, last year, I was at a Whole Foods perusing the seafood section, and the fish guy asked me if I had ever tried Halibut Cheeks. Halibut what??? I had never heard of these! And he cooked me […]

A Sexy Benefit of Paleo

March 20, 2010 by Joey

Okay… so while eating Paleo is good for you for SO MANY HEALTH REASONS (do I even need to spell them out here??), there is another fantastic, totally superficial benefit: you get lean. Probably leaner than you’ve ever been. You discover your six-pack, lose that mid-waist “pooch,” and rid your arms of that floppy skin that used to waddle when you waved to people. So lean, in fact, that you just might want to take your clothes off and show […]

Mr. Chicken

March 12, 2010 by Joey

Is it weird to name your dinner? It’s not like I’m calling him Bob or anything… First names are too personal for those who become my dinner. But I just couldn’t help myself, this isn’t like we’re just grilling up some pre-cut chicken breasts, this is a WHOLE chicken, and he looks like a WHOLE chicken, so, in my world, he gets a name. And I talked to him while we bathed him, rubbed him down, and stuffed him. You […]

Tired of Cooking?

March 10, 2010 by Joey

Okay, so while eating a complete Paleo diet will leave you totally energized and feeling great, sometimes all that chopping, rinsing, marinating, grilling, roasting and even chewing can leave you just a bit exhausted, wishing you had just a few more minutes back into your day. So, maybe, take a break and let someone else do the cooking! Sounds nice, doesn’t it? We have a local resource here in the Seattle area that can deliver FRESH Paleo Meals right to […]

How to Con the Rest of Your Family into Going Paleo

March 9, 2010 by Joey

I’m kidding. Sort of… If you’re anywhere on the Paleo map (new to the diet or well-seasoned), your Paleo diet may have come up in a recent conversation or two with your loved ones. I’m guessing that they’ve then done one of two things. Laughed out loud, rolled eyes, or tossed you what I called a “crazy” card Been interested enough to hear you talk about it, and then laughed out loud, rolled eyes, or tossed you a crazy card […]

Meet the Parents: A Family Paleo Success Story

March 8, 2010 by Joey

As I sit down to write this, I feel as though I am sitting upon a Paleo Pedestal. Jake and I began eating Paleo about a year ago – right before we joined Gravity Janes. Nine months later, my sister Shelley (co-author of the blog here) began her Paleo Diet, and I was so excited for her. One month after that, in January of this year, our parents joined the Gravity Janes 6-Week Nutrition Challenge, and are now Paleo eaters […]
