Sleep Love Eat

{Katie and Casey’s Wedding}

Today, it is my desire to share a little bit of L-O-V-E with you. Whether you’re busy at work, managing your homestead, or just trucking along in your day-to-day life, I think this is a post that should bring a smile to all.

Last month, Jake and I had the honor of spending the weekend up in Roche Harbor with Katie and Casey and their closest family and friends as they exchanged hand-written vows and said, “I Do.” There is always a special feeling in the air when everyone travels to a destination wedding. You can feel the excitement from everyone around you that they have left their work and woe’s behind to let loose, have fun, and come together to have a good time.

Compliments as well to the fantastic wedding planner, Katy Leiser of Unveiled Events, gorgeous flowers and decor by Alexa of Fiore Blossoms, delicious food from Roche Harbor Weddings, and awesome live music from the talented brothers of Two Buck Chuck!

Katy and Casey… thank you for having us out and for making us feel so included in your special day. We think your kindness and beauty show in all your photos – we hope you love them :)    ~ Joey & Jake

Want to see what we dined on during our weekend away from home? Check it out here :) Happy eating!

  1. Just found your site as I’m learning more about Paleo….

    I love what you said about destination weddings: “You can feel the excitement from everyone around you that they have left their work and woe’s behind to let loose, have fun, and come together to have a good time.”

    I had a small destination wedding last month and my mother is still talking about how relaxing it was. I’m the youngest of 3, and she never knew a mother of the bride could be so relaxed and not concerned about anything. No guests in the house, people to feed or needing to clean :)

    QUESTION: What’s the dog’s name (blog #18)? He’s (she) is awefully cute. I make dog bowls and would love to make one for him – No Charge; just because.

    I’ll send a picture of what I make, if you’d like.

    Anyway, I am in (on) Daytona Beach, Florida.

    Sincerely, Nancy Mezzon
